Gemma Cameron is Engineering Practice Lead at Co-op, where she is building a diverse team of technology specialists helping Co-op build digital products for their businesses in Food, Funeralcare, Legal Services and more. Frequent speaker at tech events on bringing user stories to life, test driven design, behaviour driven development and network automation. Interested in building communities, testing, conversations, users and domain.
Gemma’s strengths outside of her day to day job as a programmer are around community building. She has organised many tech events over the years. Founding Manchester Girl Geek Dinners, Barcamp Blackpool and HackManchester. Running barcamps and girl geek events in Nottingham, coding dojo’s in Manchester and Preston. In 2015 Gemma became the Queen Bee of the Manchester Tech scene by organising tech events north west; a community of tech event organisers in the North West. Director of HAC100, running coding competitions for youths and adults. Director of Madlab.
